J.R.R Tolkien's Middle-earth during the first age (as in The Silmarillion and The History of Middle-Earth .) The good guys are brighter and the bad guys are badder. This is Middle-Earth at it's peak!

Beleriand is a virtual environment and game where we have tried to recreate the world of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth books. The action of Beleriand specifically takes place in the First Age (as told in The Silmarillion, The Lays of Beleriand, and the majority of Tolkien's fiction), when the good guys were stronger and brighter, when the bad guys were bigger and badder--in short, this is Middle-earth at its height! This is the time of the War of the Jewels, the fantastic struggle of the Free Peoples against the awesome power of the great Vala Morgoth and his minions. At this point in our timeline we are in the aftermath of the Dagor Bragollach, the Battle of Sudden Flame--about the time of the famous tale of Beren and LĂșthien! You are invited to join in the action, by creating a character which represents a citizen of the world of Middle-earth, such as an Elf, Dwarf, Man, or Orc, and interacting with other players portraying other roles in the same environment.
