Greetings, Buffy & Angel Fans! Sun Lian Chen here - an avid lover of both shows and the Mud I'm here to tell you all about. As the Website (which, I don't think has had much if any attention since I myself started playing...) states, we are based on the Buffy Universe. That said, our race and class selection is taken directly from that. You can choose from the Human, Half-demon, Vampire and Demon races. Your sub-race, ofcourse is determined by you. With classes, the options are based upon what race you choose. Humans can become Slayers, Witches, Sorcerers, Watchers and Soldiers. Halfdemons can only be Warriors (at some point that could change, possibly). Vampires can be Fighters or Witches/Sorcerers. Demons can be either Devils or Brutes. In keeping with a modern theme, and also to help keep things in character - there are no tells, but rather we all have cell phones. And since cellular technology is a booming business, the Coders at BuffyMUD have made some of the most recent advances available to us such as text messaging as well as using our phones like a walkie-talkie. Other such 'modern' perks would be our internet cafe, and our Town Hall - which possesses a computer through which you can research others in the game. The MUD itself, is set within Sunnydale. Featuring multiple locations for which roleplay can occur - other than the streets or tunnels beneath the city itself, are: Stacy's Gym, The Magic Box, Town Hall, Internet Cafe, Sunnydale Highschool, UC Sunnydale, The Bronze, The ER, The Mall..and quite a few more. Now, I'm sure you all want to know...but what about the combat?! Combat in Buffy MUD is somewhat automated. When you train and gain new skills and abilities, most of them such as martial arts attacks, are automatic. Spells and special abilities are like any other thing, and must be initiated by the player. But combat is in my opinion, one of the best features Buffy MUD has to offer. You can learn from the schools of Kung Fu, Karate, Kick Boxing and Aikido. Within those schools however, are dozens and dozens of different forms with which to use. And what would these forms be without eye-popping attacks like: Front kick, back kick, jump spin kick, flying double kick, wall kick, backflip kick, uppercut punch, backhand, hook punch, roundhouse punch, falling star punch, shoulder throw, hurl and -SO- many more. As for Magick...since I know it was a major area of interest to me personally ... Magick itself is nicely growing by small leaps and bounds. With enough training, you can conjure arcs of lightning to electrify, balls of fire to engulf, beams of light to burn and blind - not to mention mastering the ancient art of Vodun and creating dolls of your enemies to curse them from afar. Other applications of magick include, improving the healing rate of yourself or others, erecting magical barriers, turning annoying people into rats, the...
