This MUSH is based on the world of Roger Zelazny's Amber series. It has been designed to tell a grand story with the help of its players. This story will have a beginning, a middle, and an eventual end. Part of this grand story will be driven by its non-canon character player-base, part by its canon characters, and part by its staff. There are no sacred cows in Chronicles of Amber. Canon characters can die. Big things can change.Your characters can make a mark in this world and its events. Some might view a story with a lifespan that will eventually expire as a limitation. We propose that it is a freedom. A freedom to let big changes occur. We do not need to preserve characters, places, or objects in perpetuity because they are considered integral to the canon of the place. Chronicles of Amber focuses on the complex dynamics surrounding the dysfunctional royal family of Amber. They love. They hate. They plot. They scheme. In the end, it is all about family. The relationships center around games of honor and dishonor, intrigue and secrets, knowledge of the universe, and at times outright conflict. The Chaosians, much more rare within our game, serve as an accent and counterpoint to the Amberites, but not an outright opposing force. They are there to help define Amber and the Amberites. The families of Amber and Chaos are prideful. They are competent. They are confident. There are no wusses of Amber. Amberites are bold. When they move, they take bold actions. When they fail, they do so spectacularly. Amberites and Chaosians are intense individuals, not weak individuals. Stories are told of their actions, legends arise because of what they do. You are playing one of them.
