Welcome to the inflamed world of Sleepless Nights. Set in medieval times of wizards and warriors, you use your brains and brawn to survive the many mysteries of the land, to solve the secret quests, and to work your way up to the ultimate goal of becoming Immortal. Sleepless Nights is FREE. It is one of many Multi-User Dungeons that have been around for years and have survived the ravages of 3D graphics and shoot'em up games, still having something to offer those interested in a challenge with a racing pulse. Borne of the days where people played text adventures of Commodore64, Specturm, or BBC Micro, now you get much more through the interaction online with other players in real time. It's free to play and incredibly absorbing. Advancement on Sleepless Nights is linked to points i.e. when you achieve a certain points score you increase a level. Points gan be gained by defeating difficult monsters or sacrificing treasure to the Gods. Several guilds exist, but entering their ranks requires completing a puzzle, to prove your worth and committment to the guild. Guilds each have different skills and deficiencies and the player's art is to maximise his strengths against his opponent's weaknesses while minimising his own weaknesses. The quests are quite well put together, a mix of difficulties to keep your interest whether you're a new player or an old hand. Be aware, though, that this is a PK (player killing) MUD. While the inn you start in is a "safe" zone, once you leave it, you are at the mercy of others.

Sleepless Nights is an Abermud 5 which in my opinion has the best interface of any MUD out there. It is fairly easy to learn. There are guilds and levels and quests. This MUD is awesome because it is a Player Killing MUD. The thrill of the hunter and hunted. It also has alot of good players who are willing to help new players. We are looking for new players. Ok, in my personal opinion, Sleepless Nights is by far one of the BEST muds ever made. I've played alot of muds, but i have yet to find a mud that's better than sleepless... but you can find that out for yourself :-D the link is www.sleepless.cheese.org/connect.html And if you want to read a little about the game, leave out the "/connect.html" It's all around a great mud, it has everything from relaxing(OOC) options such as -- Hidden Humor -- if you have problem spelling, don't worry, chances are, the game will pop up with some quick witted *CAUGH* insult *CAUGH* :-D or maby some helpfull advice. Friendly Chat -- you can talk to fellow charicters, and HOPE their willing to give you some help... All the charicters help new players, but after a while, you'll pick the people you want steer clear of, being a playerkilling game. Poker -- you can take on other players, and try to win some easy gold, texas hold em, or five card draw. Connect four -- I still don't get the point to this game... but it's fun none the less :-D -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Then there are some awesome playerkilling modes, such as -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mobile kills -- your basic slaughter fest, although tough at first, it gets alot more fun as you go. Kill everything from little Bunny Rabbits, to Giant Trolls.... and those are just the little guys :-D Player kills -- just like it sounds, you can test your skill agenst other players, from literally around the world. Gather up weapons, collect food, and say your prayers. And as you play, how you play(helping or hurting people) effects your status-- Halo=>(-) Horns=>(_) -| |- -| |- Highlander -- (NOTE: can only be started by an immortal) that allows you to run agenst other players in a compleatly different set up of the game, while you are running, the immortals have many different game options, such as Random guilds and levels, which sets your Guild and level, as it sounds, randomly. Then theirs the good old fashion... "let's see how you do with your own char", where nothing changes, but your charicter is COMPLEATLY safe while your running in the highlander... after the game, you will be retured back to the way you were before the game started, Coins, EXP, ect... The imms even award prizes for those that join/win the Highlander matches. BEST GAME IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!! well, as far as mud games go :-D I've been on it for about two years, and I have yet to find a better mud... There are a few downsides, like the quests can be a challenge, but the gods, and most Immortals are willing to help you, it's a great game to play, expecially if your just learning mud based games.
