I've been playing SneezyMUD on and off for over a decade. It is far and away the best MUD I've ever played. Even after ten years I find new zones and new gear that I didn't know about all the time. I've tried twenty or so other MUDs over that time and always find myself getting bored...the skillsets aren't complex enough, or the world is too small. SneezyMUD feels like a world in scale - stretching from arctic northlands, tundra and ice caves, down to tropical forests, volcanos, grasslands, vast oceans, and a flowing set of rivers - it just blows my mind. You can spend at least a day when you first start just exploring Grimhaven, the world's largest city, that newbies start out in. SneezyMUD is a truly rich environment. The World is huge, with oceans, rivers, mountains, valleys, great cities and small villages. Exploring is a lot of fun, and it's encouraged as there are many built-in quests throught The World. There are many different activites available should you get tired of blood and travelling. You can fish, gamble, get drunk at a local bar, hang out with a lady of the evening, buy a shop. Character creation is a very detailed process. You can get many different combinations and a unique feeling to your character by choosing traits such as alcoholism, nightvision or cowardice, customizing your char's stats, childhood environment (such as recluse or village person) and more. And for you to get really attached and care for your character, there's also a permanent death option for the more experienced ones. There's even a monument in honor of those who risk permanent death in their adventures! One thing I love about Sneezy is how fights are limb-based. You might send a fatal blow and behead your opponent. Or you might disembowel them. As you advance in levels you learn better where to strike to get the best off of your enemy. Wield a dagger and you'll learn how to pierce with proficiency, never wield one and you'll always be clumsy with it, end up with one stuck on your foot and in need of a doctor. Leveling is based on the experience you have. As you advance in levels new skills are available to you, and you can chose from several disciplines within your class to practice on. For example if you're a cleric, you might chose to go defensive and practice on Cures or go offensive and practice on Afflictions. The customization process starts at char creation and continues throughout your char's lifetime. The playerbase is very friendly, as is the immortal staff. Should you get confused, just ask anyone for a hand and they will assist you and welcome you to our family. Well, I guess you have to try it for yourself. I've said enough already!

Many games are able to grab one by the throat and drag them screaming into a new world. Very few games have enough depth to keep someone immersed in that world. Sneezy mud truly has the ability to let someone breath and live in a world apart from our own. The world itself is massive and detailed with multiple cities, caverns, forests, and oceans spanning from the frozen tundra to the scalding desert. Swim far beneath the sea and drag yourself up the highest mountain. Battle against a plethora of creatures(called mobiles or mobs) from citizens of the different cities to mighty dragons off in secluded areas. Character creation is class based with various skill sets available to each. As characters progress in levels new skills sets become available. Skills are advanced by use, never use a sword and you will never get good with it. Should adventuring get tiresome there are other activities such as fishing to help pass the time and relax. Houses and business can be bought should one acquire enough wealth. The world is constantly expanding. Places get updated and new areas are discovered. Players and immortals alike are mostly friendly and helpful. This world has been one of my homes several years. Drop in and send a tell should you need anything.

You might have noticed a spate of reviews lately about SneezyMUD. We have a very dedicated core playerbase who are wanting to promote what we feel is a fantastic mud. I've been playing SneezyMUD for 6 years and I have had a blast watching it grow. I still find new places to visit (16,000 rooms, takes a while to find them all). Just recently I found an arctic zone complete with penguins sliding down ice chutes. For people who may be interested, let me lay out why someone would want to play SneezyMUD: Broad range of character developement: Within each class you chose where to specialize. Are you going to be a combat cleric, or more focused on healing? Is your mage going to specialize in Air, Water, Fire, or Engergy? Fun classes: Besides the usual we offer monks, shaman and deikhan (a paladin type). From cracked skulls, packs of spectres and trampled bodies, these classes have it all. Large world: Tons of new areas to explore and things to get. Friendly playerbase: We're a non-pk mud and our playerbase has a cooperative demeanor. Combat crits: Like to poke out eyes and cause eviscerations? What about cranial piercings and punctured voice-boxes? Try your hand, see what you can do! SneezyMUD is the only MUD that's ever kept me coming back for the three years I've been playing. I like it for the various and complex aspects of the world. Shop ownership, limb-based combat, interesting crit kills, city mayorship (which includes player manipulation of the increasingly closed economy), pet ownership, drugs, alcoholism, gambling, fishing, gardening, whittling, player owned homes ... so many crazy things. There's now a persistent world, so the changes we make to the world can stay, so players can make a lasting mark on their environment, long after they're gone. I like the interesting disciplines I can choose from and the post-50 (50 is max level) ability to gain practices towards these disciplines. The people are pretty friendly, generous and helpful. The items are fun, zones all unique, and fights all pretty interesting. The best part is the constant development of the mud. There's always new and interesting things going on. Real life does it's best to tear me away but the new developments keep me coming back. come by and visit! :)

One of the most fun, and complete fantasy muds on the internet. The fun from the spirit,attitude and general playfulness of the players. The depth of features and completeness has come from *constant* coding for 10+ years. Not 10 months from diku stock, or 2 years, but 10+ full years of mud coding from some of the most ambitious and dedicated mud coders on the internet. SneezyMud's version is SneezyMud 5.2. Those of you who tried past Sneezy versions, already know the advanced state of the code. I hope you will be pleased by the advances since those code versions. Sneezy is the kind of mud that has alot of great features that, after seeing, you wonder why everyone else doesn't have them. For instance, all commands support abbreviations. Instead of 'tickle Bindlebobber' you can type 'tick bin' if no other commands and targets start with your abbreviation. So, if the tickle command was the only command that started with t and there was only one guy that started with a ‘b’, you could use 't b'. I usually have to make tons of aliases for this on other MUDs. Another example is the limb and damage system. All of your bodyparts are all targets in combat, and can even start bleeding, be severed, suffer bone breakage, nerve damage, become useless, infected, etc. There's nothing more satisfying than fighting that tough mob and getting a lucky hit in to sever one of his arms off (so he can't attack you with that arm). Then watch him run away in terror as he bleeds every few rounds etc etc. The object system is advanced enough you could even pickup his lifeless arm and throw it at him a few rooms away. I realize this sounds gory but it underscores the depth that the combat system has.

Its list of features are endless and downtime is really rare (no crashes compared to other MUDs). Come over, play for a couple weeks, and see what you think.

I first discovered Sneezy in college about 10 years ago, and although I've played very few other MUDs, I can't imaging one as great as Sneezy. The world is vast, interesting, engaging, and at time hilariously funny. Recently a friend convinced me to try Neverwinter Nights and after about a month I found myself back at Sneezy, honing my monk skills for more hours than my wife would like. Come on over and plow through the streets of Grimhaven, or lead a party to try and take out the Arch Vampire, or smoke some pipeweed, or begin a quest to earn your Holy Devestator, or get a tattoo and just hang out fishing, or do some gambling in the casino, make millions of talens and open your own weapons shop, or even just hang out in Market Square and shoot the breeze with the friends you will make on this MUD. Sneezy is the best!

SneezyMUD has a great mix of community and gameplay. I have played several muds in the past decade, but this is the one that I kept coming back to. It is in continual development, and has an active coding staff. There are many experienced players, many of whom are active in adding additional world content to the mud. It currently (winter 2004) has about 100 active accounts per week (who play about 200 PCs per week). Come and be part of the fun!

This MUD is far different from any MUD I've ever played. It features easy gameplay with hard strategy/roleplaying. The interface involved with rooms/fighting etc. is near perfect for what is expected and wanted in a MUD. The MUD itself is very stable, running at often times over a year without a serious crash of any sort. I've played this mud for only about a year now, but it is still opening up to new adventures and to be honest I have explored less than 1/5 of the game and killed far far less than that Mobile wise. I recommend this MUD to anybody and everybody, the Immortals themselves are understanding, and dont look down on players as if they were of less stature than themselves, they simply do what is right and are pollite one way or the other. The environment is very soothing, with most characters working WITH eachother instead of against, PKill is an option but under strict conditions, which limit a high level attacking a lower level simply because of a peronal grudge etc. The armor/weapons in the game are extremely versatile, alont with the classes and races. I strongly suggest trying this MUD, and do NOT dislike it because of its uniqueness, learn to love it and you will be glad you did.
