Star Trek: Gibraltar is open! We have plenty of room for characters in all departments and as we've just started our first season now is the time to come play! Though the MUSH is new, its creators have been working on this project in several forms for the past two years. Gibraltar is a MUSH based in 2376, just after the Dominion War. The game has one area of play: Starbase 247, also known as Gibraltar Station. We have a heavy emphasis on roleplay and cooperative storytelling--we have a situation to start things off from, but we want the players to tell us where to go from that starting point, and what to focus on in our plots. Gibraltar Station itself is a Buckingham-class starbase in the Antares sector, a jumping-off point for ships going further toward the galactic core or back toward the core of the Federation. It also serves as an economic and diplomatic hub for the sector. And there is one more thing nearby: the Antares Maelstrom, a massive storm in space that has spawned many traveler's tales over the years. This will be a story about forging a new life after a devastating war; about political alliances and economic struggles; about what is truly out in the uncharted vastness of space. But mostly, this will be a story about the eternal human struggle to transcend our earthly limitations that is the very heart of Gene Roddenberry's vision of Star Trek. Why come play here? Star Trek: Gibraltar is meant to be a game the players can influence deeply. We want *your* ideas and *your* input. We want your character's story writ large in our episodes and on our webpage, we want your story ideas incorporated with our own. Gibraltar is an exercise in cooperative storytelling, and we *cannot* do this without players and staff to participate with us! Our first season has just started, so now's the time to come get involved! Come be a part of something new, something exciting. Be a part of Star Trek: Gibraltar.

We have a heavy emphasis on roleplay and cooperative storytelling--we have a situation to start things off from, but we want the players to tell us where to go from that starting point, and what to focus on in our plots. We'll be using a never-before-seen dice system that will focus our efforts, tracing the threads of a character's story and helping both staff and players alike get *everyone* involved. This system is the result of several years' hard work by its creator and is just now seeing the light of day.
