Welcome to Star Trek: Redemption, a MUSH based on Gene Roddenberry's
Star Trek universe.

This is a role-playing game. It is not a MUD. There are no monsters to fight
or things to kill--all actions are role-played out as if characters were
actors on a show.

The administration of this MUSH recognizes that Star Trek is copyright
of Paramount Pictures and does not claim title to anything covered by said
copyright. This game is for entertainment purposes only.

We are running on PennMUSH

Description
The year is 2379. Four years since the end of the Dominion War, which devastated a large portion of Starfleet's Fleet, and barely almost a year since the Romulans opened negotiations. But there are still challenges to be faced, and as much as it looks like things are finally changing for the better there is always that chance that something unexpected may happen. Knowing this chance existed, in 2376 the Federation Council, based on the presentation of Starfleet Command, authorized the 'Redemption Project'. Redemption-class starships were designed to be heavier variants of the Sovereign-class starships. To start, Starfleet Corps of Engineers took the design of the Sovereign and expanded on it. A new warp drive was commissioned to be built by venerable earth-based General Electric. In addition, a whole new platform of equipment was to be designed for ship, with the hopes that she would become the most sophisticated ship of her kind.

Description:
The year is 2378. The Dominion War is behind the Federation but scars still remain. The years since the Treaty of Bajor have been quiet ones, with a focus in Starfleet and the Federation as a whole on rebuilding and restructuring the fleet for Starfleet's primary purpose of exploration. On the drawing board is the Galaxy-X class, which melds the old Galaxy-class hull with a new frontier of technology. Preparations for the maiden voyage of the USS Redemption, the first Galaxy-X class, are being made. The final touches are being put on the ship, the young Captain is gathering his crew, and the commissioning ceremony is expected to take place within the next month. The galaxy is quiet now, and there is a great deal of empty space out there, ripe for exploration, if only things can stay this quiet for a little while longer... The ship will be launching on November 4th and we are open for RP. We still have plenty of space for new characters. Please stop by and have a look around, we'd be glad to have you on the team! [2]
The year is 2379. The Federation has a new war, with one of its oldest allies--the Klingon Empire. Redemption herself, largest ship in the fleet, a prototype built atop a Galaxy-class spaceframe, is settling into a new command crew, 1400 people trying to find their identity in the midst of chaos. With the war with the Klingons raging, it seemed like dark times were hitting the Federation from all sides. This invisible enemy, the Arjelans, seemed to be in the perfect position for their plan. Racing against time, the crew of the Redemption worked to do whatever they could to fight this unseen enemy. The fierce space battle that ensued left heavy casualties on both sides. Starfleet itself lost a number of good vessels in the fight, as well as a number of fine officers and crew. But in the end, they overcame the odds and drove back the Arjelans. What lies ahead for the ship? Only time will tell. But with the refit of all her major systems (including a new AI), a new Commanding Officer, a young Executive Officer, and a crew that is prepared to do what it takes, it seems likely the ship will continue to forge new limits into the great depths of space.
