Weekday numbers are usually around a half-dozen, evening and weekend numbers tend towards 10 and up. [1]

Find your niche. One fun feature are Tokens that randomly generate and have an increased chance of being generated from players killing mobs. They give temporary bonuses to stats, or will give you a "pretitle" (ex. Inquisitor), or color change of names. If you get tired of them you are able to remove them at no cost. Don't be afraid to walk around and become familiar with the areas. The mud is very forgiving when it comes to player death (and there are no death traps). There is a mortician in the main city that will retrieve your corpse (with all of your items) for a small fee. Each level you gain mortician credits. Dying by PK only affects your clans revenue if you are killed by an opposing clan, also there is a toggle for Rev. Damage so if you just want to have a friendly battle that is also possible. There is also no corpse looting, except of Clan Badges (which are easily replaced). The clan system provides members with a clan hold containing a skull and donation pit protected by NPCs. More revenue increases the power of the guards, and also increases the stats on Clan Badges. If you choose not to be in a clan there are other badges in the world, and pits. There is a automated quest system from level 5+ that rewards you with not only experience but also points to spend on fun and helpful items. Quests require you to seek an item, or mob to slay. During the holidays there are special mini games such as pumpkin chucking, that also reward you with a different type of quest points. [2]

New, player friendly. Lots of helpfiles and hints to get you started. There is no corpse looting. There is a mortician that will retrieve your body if you die, with no fear of being slaughtered trying to hunt it down. Each class is capable of some melee to start, so its easy to be any class and succeed against mobs. Some classes are better built for one on one pk, while in groups other classes make good teams. PK is limited by level difference so you are safe from high level characters. Unless you enter the blood bowl which is an all out battle zone. The areas rarely have a mob out of the intended level range of said area and you can always 'consider' a mob before attacking it. There are NO death traps. Its easy to navigate the world with the 'help map' function, plus the layout is amazing, you really need to check it out. Its easy on the eyes and fun to explore rooms to find secrets. This mud has had some excellent Immortals that are Highly knowledgeable coders and at the same time creative. There is plenty to discover throughout each area. Almost no stock left here! There are 55 levels, the top level you achieve the title of Legend, you will then be able to use the 'Legend' channel for discussion (only immortals and Legends can see). I have a legend in every class, some more than one, with countless in-betweens. Why? Because I enjoy leveling with friends and helping them. Read some of the other reviews, they say more about UD and its all positive!

I just wanted to say that Underworld Dreams, by far is one of the best MUDs I have played. Having played it since the 6th grade, and currently a junior in college, all I have to say is that it by far is the only mud I continually play. I highly suggest this MUD to any one looking to get into MUDing or looking for a great community to play with. You won't be sorry for playing Underworld Dreams.

I've played on various MUDS since I was fifteen, I'm twenty-four now. I know I have no life. I can blame the majority of it on Underworld Dreams, as its the only one that has kept me around for so long. Its a completely addictive game that has a great community. The Imm staff actually cares and takes player opinions into account when creating new content. There are rigorous tests given to every non-stock area, which results in an amazing environment that is completely immersive. The goal for this test is to provide the players with a uniform and comprehensive world. So if you like MUDs that involve fighting dragons then beaming to the Enterprise, sorry folks this one isn't for you. The realm is set in fantasy and allows various cultures to exist within it's realm, a lot of research goes into every area. I have heard that the Imm staff is slowly weeding out the stock areas, and replacing them with completely original ones. The players range in age, from pre-teens to post mortem, though it still has a small playerbase, there is much comraderie and with a knowledgeable player community. Now for the players that enjoy pk, don't let my review fool you, Underworld Dreams is a PK MUD. There are Clan/Guild battles on a regular basis, and plenty of trash talk that would make a sailor blush (on the appropriate channels of course). I'd advise any experienced and inexperienced mudder to check this game out, everyone is very helpful and a lot of time and effort is placed to provide new players with a fun and exciting environment. Warning, there are name restrictions which are strictly enforced, please read the guidelines when you first create a character.

Though I play Underworld Dreams almost daily now, I don't think I'm biased at all when I say that UD is probably one of the best MUDs out there. I've been on many other MUDs, and given many chances for them to win me over, but no MUD has succeeded like UD has. For starters, the MUD isn't sloppy or painful to look at. The MUD is extremely easy on the eyes. Even if you're used to a different color format, you are able to edit your color string to make yourself more comfortable. The various classes' skills are sweet. Many unique skills have been coded, and the staff is constantly considering submitted ideas by members to use to make the MUD more unique. The staff is always active, and occasionally willing to go one on one with each member for any reason, all to help better balance the MUD and make it more fun to play. The community is extremely diverse, with plenty of newbie-friendly players to lend newcomers a helping hand, as well as powerful players that help give the MUD it's competitive PK persona. It's easy to make friends at UD. All in all, I'd say it'd be worth double your time to wander over to Underworld Dreams and check it out.

Underworld Dreams is a wonderful mud with good implementors that work on fixing stuff as soon as it is found out. I like the one Race/Class system that's implemented here because it allows a character to become strong in one aspect without overpowering them like some multiclass muds do. Gold running is easy with items that make your prosperity higher, and you have to use a lot of gold anyway, so the easy ability to get gold is great. There is a true quest system implemented. You go to the questmaster, and request a quest from him, and he sends you out to slay something or to find an item needed for a quest. It takes you to zones that are harder (on average) than what you can take at base stats. It requires you to work harder to get the item. When you complete a quest it gives you quest points which allow you to buy some pretty cool quest items. There are also tokens implemented in the game that give you temporary boosts to stats or name color changes and Titles as well. So you can have fun with your character name. You can also rename/restring any item you want with quest points or a restring token. Overall I think it is an excellent mud!

I completely agree with Artic here. There's alot of original ideas for most every class, along with a very productive Immortal staff. I can give quite a few examples for unique class skills. Thieves, get a skill called 'Craft disguse'. This is where you find a blank disguise kit, and craft a disguise of a lower level mob. I think one of the best features about UD is the clans system. Being a clan founder myself, I like being able to raze clan holds and try to destroy oposing clans. It's also nice when you've got to work with other clanmates to destroy a big, big mob. IE: Tiamat, the Violator, or the Vulture, there's others like said mobs, but these are probably the strongest. I've tried many times to pull myself away from Underworld Dreams, but it's a mud home for me. Like Artic said, overall, it's the best Mud I've ever played.
