Present day. Present time! Tokyo, Japan, Earth. In 1998, the first Angel Egg was released. The new game got popular rather quickly. Even though it took a special, very expensive device to move the dolls that were called Angels, even though most people had to rent it to play, the sight of a doll moving to your thoughts, the sight of a doll coming alive is priceless. You could make the dolls fight battles. You could win prizes and participate in tournaments. And you could buy a truckload of accessories to go with any single doll. Girls love it. Children and adults alike participate in Angelic Layer. While nobody really paid attention, Angelic Layer crept firmly onto TV - it was really fun to watch. Every national tournament was held at a stadium bigger than the previous one. It's 2002 now, Angelic Layer is turning into the biggest craze of the decade, and everything is looking good! The future is not here yet. It is just beginning. Angelic Layer is a manga and anime series by CLAMP - and a roleplaying MUSH, run by people who like to think they have a clue. Welcome! This is the only MUSH on the Net which uses a card game simulated in software as it's main conflict resolution system. This is the MUSH with the best support for HTML-capable clients than any other we could find, but it's still playable on anything that can display 78 characters sideways. This is a place where sipping and nodding is out of fashion - and we're still working on it! Playing here takes some effort. But we hope that someday, someone, calls this place "home". [2]
Welcome to Angelic Layer Mush Connect Now Present day. Present time. Tokyo, Japan, Earth In the year 1998, a new game was released that swept the country, and soon enough - the world. Angelic Layer became very popular, very quickly, among girls and boys, young and old. It took a special, very expensive device to move the amazing dolls called Angels, but the sight of a doll coming alive and moving to your thoughts was well worth it. Not only could the Angels move, but they could be made to fight battles against one another. These battles developed into tournaments which spanned from local level to natonal games where the best of the best played. Everything from merchandising to television was touched in some way by Angelic Layer. Features: Based on the manga and anime series by CLAMP Unique code, including a collectible card game modelling Layer fights! Extensive Pueblo graphical client support High quality (if not quantity) of RP A setting that combines the modern day with the wonders of anime! High school friendships, Tokyo shopping, and the intense competition of the Layer! [3]
Present day. Present time. Tokyo, Japan, Earth. An Angelic Layer tournament is about to start. Toy robots? You could say that. Dolls? You could say that too. A virtual fighting game? To a degree. But to an observant eye, it is so much more. The future is not here yet. It is just beginning! Angelic Layer MUSH is a story-oriented roleplaying MUSH, based on CLAMP manga and anime series "Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer", run by people who like to think they have a clue. They might be wrong, too. [4]

Suggest that anyone who likes roleplaying and anime try out AL MUSH. It has some of the best RPers I've seen in any MUSH. The angelic fight system is fun and involving, and is a major (but not overriding part of the RP there). Right just now it's suffering from a bit of a lull - but all it needs to be a place where you can make some great stories with better people is you. Angelic Layer MUSH needs your support, hop on now and give a little of your time - I promise you it will be worth it. (Played on AL mush for several years, have really enjoyed my time there, and am looking to become staff so I can give back some of what I've gotten from it.)

Angelic Layer Muck is a rather different muck. This may or may not be a good thing depending on what you're looking for, but there it is. Rather low population currently, though. The collectible card type system of resolving Angelic Fights is pretty cool, although someone expecting a deep card system may be disappointed. Due to not having much combat or any large or obvious conflicts in general, it might not be the thing for more combat-oriented players. The staff is usually pretty helpful. They claim there is a larger plot going on, but it's not always easy to find out what it is. This isn't entirely bad, but it means that one has to create one's own RP with other players most of the time. Some of the people are very good roleplayers, though, which makes this easier. There's low overall violence level, no high tech stuff or magic or people constantly carrying around weapons, ect, at least, none that I've run across yet. All in all, it's as close to a 'normal life' anime muck as I've come across.
