As the Wheel Weaves is a long-running text based game where you can interact with dozens of people from around the world. Explore thousands of rooms, do battle with evil, or seek to bring darkness to the lands. Sail the high seas and climb to the tops of the mountain peaks as you seek to complete quests and find new lands. AWW combines the feel of the Wheel of Time books with a real-time gaming atmosphere where gamers can socialize and play their characters, engage in battles, or go out and explore the vast and richly detailed world. Connect and Play and join us on an ever-changing ride through the WoT adventure! The players of AWW decide how this MUD is to be run, which sets us apart from many other MUDs. Players make suggestions via polls on the discussions forums. The coders and builders then implement those suggestions. AWW's code and world have been designed with the details of the Wheel of Time in mind. We have included almost every city, town, and village described in the books. The world is extremely large, with over 23,000 rooms. There are over 200,000 lines of code which drive the MUD and make it possible for Robert Jordan's world to come to life. [3]

I won't bother telling my whole mudding story, because it'll probably bore you silly. Suffice it to say that this was one of my first muds, and while I enjoyed it, I never had enough time to truly appreciate it. So I left. That was around 2001-2002 (can't quite recall). I came back in 2005 and began a new character. At the time, it wasn't a very popular MUD, which is unfortunate, because it had so many good players and staff members alike. I was there when the pbase shot up from about 20 players to around 50, with 30-40 online at peak times. As I understand it, the pbase is still continuing to rise. In 2006, because I happen to enjoy coding as much as mudding, and I knew that the owner was the only person doing any coding (which has since changed), I decided to code for the game. I must have done a good job, because not long after, I became an Immortal. I have to admit, the MUD has seen a lot of drama, with popular players sometimes deciding they've had enough. In my case, I left for a different reason. Most of the people I roleplay with on the game are gone, meaning that none of my characters were in any shape to do anything. Also, I didn't have enough time away from college to do my job on the MUD, especially when, for a time, I was the only Immortal with Internet access, server access and coding knowledge who was actually logging onto the game even every other day during a time where we were having serious problems. The problems have been solved however, and the Immortals who were themselves having connection trouble are back. Don't get me wrong with my above comments; the Immortals on that game do a fantastic job. I'm proud to have been among them. Unfortunately, I just didn't have enough time to do my job, and when, like me, roleplaying is the most enjoyable part of a MUD for you, then when you can no longer roleplay, the game ceases to be fun. I had no reason to stay, so I said my goodbyes and left. I would still recommend this game to any serious WoT fan, especially considering the way in which the MUD is evolving. Good MUDing, Chris (Rilius).

Aww is a fantastic mud with amazing players that all care about each other, Robert Jorden's Wheel of Time, and having fun. As the Head Admin of Aww, I'm very proud of the players, taking their time and effort into making Aww what it is today. I have not visited a mud that I like more. Aww is VERY Newbie friendly, it has a unique set up and each room was hand created by a large build staff.

Ever dreamed of being an Aes Sedai, travlling the vast world of Randland, spreading the White Tower's will across the continent? Ever wanted to ride a raken far above the measly ground that limits people? Ever thought about fighting a fist of trollocs on the Blightborder, a sword in one hand, a banner in the other? Ever wanted to gut a Shaido Aiel for abandoning ji'e'toh? Ever wanted to pillage a town of those humans and eat them for dinner? (Well I hope not the last, but Trollocs can't be called friendly foes) If you have, then you have found the wonderland where dreams come true that is called As the Wheel Weaves. As the Wheel weaves is a MUD that dates back to 1998, based on the Bestselling Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. The MUD features hundreds of areas pulled straight from the books and and brought together in a thrilling world by our very own Builders. The code is constantly updated by our coder, a Mr. Dalsor, and now is thousands of lines long. If you are seeking a place for wonderously fun Role Playing from -anything- from the Wheel of Time books from the Seekers of Truth of the Seanchan (yours truly) to the Forsaken, AWW is for you. If you are seeking a place for exciting 'hacking and slashing', flowing from form to form to beat down those nasty Sul'dam (as if! ;p) or the beastly Shadowspawn created during the Age of Legends (Gho'blin Trollocs are my favorite), AWW is for you. If you're just looking for a fun place to hang out, a flotila of welcoming mortals and a Pantheon of loveable, collectable Imms, AWW is for you. So come on, stay a while, have a ball. Come, be spun into the pattern and see what the Wheel Weaves as the Light battles the Shadow and the world is changed.

One of the best Wheel of Time muds that I have played, plenty of helpful people, numerous guilds right out of the books, unique leveling and rebirth system and tons of rooms to explore and enjoy, plus plenty of other ingame games to pass the time. Come and enjoy As the Wheel Weaves. New players are always welcomed.

AWW, or As the Wheel Weaves, is a Wheel of Time MUD with an active player base. The mud follows events from the Robert Jordan books loosely. Book characters are not allowed and player characters are unique creations of the individuals playing them. There are generally between 30 and 80 players online. The code is heavily-modified Diku Rom with multiple coders working actively. The people are warm and interactive, with developed guild interactions as well as mud-wide connections. There is a large sense of connection between the individuals across the mud, but the real strength is within the guilds. AWW boasts several diverse guilds, with the primary focuses being on the White Tower, the Aiel, the Dark, Whitecloaks, Ogier, Asha'man, Queen's Guard, Thief Takers, Dragonsworn, Blightwatch, and the ever secretive Kin. New guilds are being included gradually, including Cha Faile and the Seanchan, with Seafolk in development. Players are allowed to play Ogier, Trollocs, and Fades, as well as hail from multiple geographic regions. Logical race/guild pairings occur. All Ogier stick together, and Aiel are Aiel. You will not find an Aiel Asha'man. Trollocs are required to be in the Dark guild. The White Tower is broken down into sub guilds for warders, younglings, towerguards, sedai, and accepteds and novices. Promotion within the guilds is based on individualized guidelines. The mud is fully-themed and very big. Areas are both functional and esthetic, and many guild areas have public and private sections. The builders use a wide-array of colors on mobiles, items, and in rooms. The mud is built on multiple continents, and boat and horse travel is implemented and necessary. Areas are being actively updated and implemented continually. Private homes/rooms are available for a fee to individuals, and like in other dikus, there is no item rent. When you quit out, you return with all of your eq and are where you left. Players get an exploration bonus (1000 xp points) for each percentage of the mud that they travel. AWW's leveling system is completely original. 1000 xp is considered to be a level. All xp is accumulated, and once 250,000 xp points (basically, level 250) are under the character's virtual belt, the character can remort. There is no published limitation on how often a character can remort. After every remort, the skills function better, succeeding more often, and more skills become available. The two types of characters most affected by these improvements are channelers and blademasters. While the mud is also class-less, characters are divided into those who can channel, and those who cannot. Equipment is wearable at all levels, and after the first remort, better equipment becomes available. Weaving is this mud's major code strength. You do not cast. You weave. You must be able to grasp the one power first, and then you weave at a strength dependent on your natural One Power levels in the different flows of air, water, earth, fire, and spirit. Flows can raise by use up to 12. Then, based on the average of the flows, an individual can weave at different strengths (with different mana costs) to heal, travel, defend, and attack. Remorts make new weaves available to the character, such as stat weaves, new shields, and very strong attacks. The One Power stats also have room to rise with the remorts. Some players on their 30th remort report One Power averages above 20, and there are rumors of players who have OP averages above 30. OP averages can be boosted by holding angreals found in chests and in Faire shops. Angreals have strengths between 1 and 10, and can be increased up to 20 points total in faires. Characters who cannot channel have unique strengths. A channeler cannot become a true Blademaster. Blademasters have additional damroll and other mysterious features. Non-channelers can use forms at lower remorts, and they can use them with better results. Several skills are available to non-channelers that channelers cannot use. Like all bricks, they hit harder and take less damage. They also have to walk everywhere, but walking does give the player xp bonuses. With remorts, the non-channeler's skills also improve. Channelers have access to blademaster forms, but they do not use them as ably as their counterparts. Spear forms are currently being developed for the Aiel. The best thing that can recommend this mud to someone who does not know about it is the fact that it contains people who genuinely like each other. The mud is a rp mud, not a pk mud, so newbies are not seen as fodder, but welcome new blood. The mud is strong with well-built areas and a unique codebase. Like all muds and groups of people, there are so many things to recommend it to a new individual. Players who do not like to level can play global games such as trivia, the automated dfhunt, and player tourneys. There is an automatic questing system that grants quest points towards quest skills, restrings, skill levels, etc. Mostly, the best thing, is the fact that it is inclusive, not exclusive, and newbies are instantly greeted by the Mentor staff. Players do not need to have read the books, but it is a big plus. If you want to know anything else, you probably should learn it first hand by visiting. There is a java client on the website, so just go to: http://www.aww-mud.org -Li
