I have been playing here since 1997. I have been a player and a high level immortal on the mud for at least 10 years. The dynamic content here, friends I have made, and overall fun have kept me here year after year. From zones like Batman, Sailor moon, Spiderman, Gilgamesh. Equipment ranging from sword, axes, spears to less PG items like Vibrators and Dildo's. Epic zones that take hours to do and receive great rewards. Great losses from Death traps and enemy's that eat your equipment. This is a great mud That has a active player base and coders that are available to talk to and share ideas. Come log in and enjoy a world that I and most the players have enjoyed for over a decade.
This is an easy mud, if you are like me, I can code in anything I want. Mainly I like to level my character faster than everyone.. its takes me less time to level here, than anyone else, that has help with them, for instance.. they have use a cleric/druid to even level halfway as fast as I. But mostly, this place is fun.. if you like to slack behind my progress. I think I have the record, at remorting characters faster than everyone. I get a kick out of giving other people gear that's really hard to even get. I use one character at a time, I like to set my stats up, just about like an immortals. So I can get all this gear, and kill things faster, that's all you need here, is my help.
this mud is great, with the only exception that there isnt 26-35 players online like the website suggests. at any given time, there are 2 bots, 5 immortals, and if you are lucky, 5 active players at the keyboard. multi-playing might look like it has 15 active players at any given moment, which is still less than the suggested # of players at any given time, but in reality, there are only about 5. you will be lucky to get help, as most veterans prefer to stick to themselves, and zoning is no longer an option, well good zones, because of the lack of players. sadly, to try to make up for loss of players, immortals try to make new ideas and implement them, which is kool. but they do thing THEY think is awesome, but since they dont play with their mortals, they really dont know what the 'people' want. but i will admit everyone is friendly, and this is the easiest mud to learn, so its a very very good learning experience.
Great Mud, lots of fun! I'm pretty new and already the other players have made this fun and huge and interesting mud a great place to play. Thanks NCMUD!
I've been playing this mud for just over 3 years...have been fully addicted happily the whole time. Northern Crossroads has to be the most addictive mud that I've played in 12-13 years of mudding. This place is the type of mud, you wished you started playing first, back in the day. It's such a colorful mud, thriving with detail.. ofourse if you were to find some typos, the right people would reward you fairly. You're able to explore the characters' classes and races, since were are allowed two fully equiped characters.. it kind of adds a variety to what you can bring to your group. I like Heroes and Druids the most. Allows me the comfort, to understand whats ahead of me, while I try to collect equipment (i.e. "zoning"). If you think you its right for you, you can remort your character.. your char can retain a skill from the previous class... You can be a PK'er if you like, we all know what that is.. "Player Killer". I get a kick out of just watching these guys kill each other. This mud allows for a creative mind to create their very own style, for all of us to experience. Each person here brings a special piece to the mud, that we all enjoy too. This place encourages you to be creative.. so if you think that you can't handle fun, creative personalities, and evolution... this mud isn't what you'd consider. Cuz we're all willing to share our knowledge with you, just can't be affraid to ask.
as fun as the mud is, the immortal staff is probably what keeps the Northern Crossroads from being what it could be. i have'nt logged on in a while, but being an immortal in the past was fun because we could create, hold quests. now that the player base has shrinkened, to a point where there are only 10 mortals on at peak times(where 2 are bots, dax and hymne, and there other 8 are 4 players logged on with two characters each). the problem is the immortal staff. there is a hold on creating zones, so there isn't much for lower immortals to do, except hold lame quests, where they give hints out to their own club, so they have an advantage to win. also, if a problem is brought up to an a high god, lets say a COMMITTEE member, their attitude usually is something like, 'Don't tell us about the problems of the mud. We know more than you, and we will fix problems that we think we need to fix.) thus, you have immortals that dont play as mortals, so they don't really understand why we are saying it is a problem. also, one simple problem takes the COMMITTEE forever to figure out. don't get me wrong, i love the immortals for keeping the Northern Crossroads running for so long. however, the current trend has a lot of players leaving, and when few of them come back, like myself, we find a small player base, and a lack of effort by the immortal staff, and it is very hard for old players like me to stay around. the immortal staff hopefully will see the trend that has been shrinking the player base, and hopefully they do something about it. the sad thing is, the more immortals you know, the easier it is for you to mud, because, i hate to admit it, there is a ton of favoritism out there. i've had my share in my favor and against me.
Northern Crossroads is a lot of fun. That's the best way to describe it. It's been online for a long time, and has a lot of original areas and plenty of good modifications to the stock races and classes. There are always people online and things to do. Most times, there's very little arguing and fighting going on, and everyone has a good time. Like I said, it's a lot of fun. Give it a try and you'll be pleasantly suprised.
Northern Crossroads is an established mudd with a large playerbase. If you've bumbled around other mudds that have 5 people logged on 75% of the time and crash every other day, it's definitely an appreciated change. For me, the most impressive part of NC is the different worlds/zones that have been created. They are very detailed and the COMM have developed a lot of special procs that are unique to each one. Additionally, a lot of time and thought go in to both the design and review of each zone before it goes live. The only caution I would have about NC is that there is a learning curve at the start. There is a great, interactive tutorial for new players, but it still takes a little time to get used to things. Because NC has been around for 14 years, there are multiple class systems, spells, races, commands, etc. If you're looking for something to come in and take off right away with, NC is not for you - go play Doom. If you're looking for something that is going to draw you in to another world and allow you to become part of the community, then I would whole-heartedly recommend Northern Crossroads.
I have been playing this MUD for nearly 12 years and I really enjoy it. I play here because of the environment and the people. I have always enjoyed being here because I dont have to worry about anything but having fun. It's a really relaxed environment and there are so many different zones and cool equipment that I cant help spend time just reading some of the really detailed descriptions of rooms and equipment. Seriously, come here and check out our MUD, its a really fun place and you wont regret it... :)
NCmud is one of those muds, you wish you had found in the 11 years you have played muds, but for me, i found this place almost 2 years ago, and im addicted. This is a wonderful place. The Immortal staff is very helpful, as do I try to help out other players. This isn't no ordinary mud, because alot of the great equipment you see around, is from pretty difficult zones, that require 2-8 chars (zones vary in difficulty). I had no problems getting to know others here, and finding my place, with the society here. But, what it boils down to, is this.. this is my home, and I would treat you how I would like to be treated. If you need help, and see me on, ask me anytime.
Ive been playing in nc for like 10 years on and off its great fun with friendly gods and loads of zones if u progress well in the game there is the option of becoming a god yourself and making some zones and stuff theres loads of clubs and pking is a option too
Northern Crossroads has been my home for a good four or five years. In those four or five years I have went from a newbie who didn't know what HP stood for and saw no relation between mana and magic to one of the most accomplished players on the mud. It has a variety of zones to choose from and variety of difficulties for the forementioned zones. If there's noone on you wish to zone with, go and solo The Simpsons. If you feel like getting a decent group together you can fight your way through the world of Narnia. The immortal staff is excellent and strive to make the mud a better place for all. There are some negative reviews posted about NC but after seeing who they're from it's plain to see that they just got frustrated because they didn't become almighty overnight. It's that simple. +Optional PKing +Great Newb Helpers +Excellent Immortals +Competitive but Friendly atmosphere.
I have been on and off with NCmud since late '92 I currently spend more of my time playing my immortal and working to add new zones to the already overflowing world. There is everything you need from slaughtering smurfs to tolkien based theme zones. Solo areas to areas so tough you need a dozen or more strong chars to beat. If NC has a single problem it is the negative attitude ppl bring when they aren't as good as others or they dont get what they want. Dont let the previos review fool you. There is nothing but fun and too many hours of a good time in store if you decideto check us out. You get much more than you put in from NC. Look at me, 12 years and still kicking.

This mud honestly, has an unlimited number of problems. The Immortal Staff is corrupted (No joke). Basically heres the rule: Get it in with a committee member, and you can do whatever you want. There are players who have super capabilities, like they can deactivate a flag in a room, or load themselves equipment and go pk and kill all player killers or raid and kill players and kill them with cheat equipment. The immortal staff is corrupted, i heard that they loaded a sacc'er and 20 soy chickens in Mafia's Club Recall to try to kill them. Its just not cool, they care for players? I doubt it, they dont really care about them all, they just mess around with them and screw with em. It's amazing how many people play the mud, because of all the cheating that goes on around. People get equipment loaded from 2 years ago if they just ask for it and if they know a comm in person. Everything about this mud is corrupted and its amazing how high the player base is.
I have been playing this mud since 95, and I must say that it is one of the funner ones out there. What is good about it? 1. Zones that are hard enough to do that you are basically forced to group them. If you want a good character, you have to group up. 2. It is fairly easy to get a good enough gear to make yourself usefull for a zoning group. 3. There are enough easy zones so you can build a character without multiple deaths. 4. Overall, the players are quite helpfull. 5. NO RENT What needs work? 1. Well losing a point of con each time you die stinks. 2. It is possible to wander into a zone where the zone gatekeeper will not let you walk out, flee, recall, or escape in any way. A lot of these zone gatekeepers will also sac your corpse. So it is almost like a death trap which takes away a con point. Some of these zones are right next to newbie zones.
It's good mud with lots to do. All the unique classes, skills and races allow you to do so much. There are tons of well made 'zones' to explore, find eq and have fun in as well as many hours of leveling characters and experimenting or playing with new spells and skills. It seems new zones are opening up every month and new exciting games and extras are in and being planned. The immortal are very caring and seem to have all kinds of fun, from trivia to kewl kwests for mortals to try. All in all NC is a great mud and I highly recommend it for new mudders and veterans alike. There's something for everyone on NC!
I would like to say that i have been playing this mud for 5 years and over time i have searched out most of the mud. the mud has a veriaty of zones and genre's.I have yet to see another mud that has a zone named mcdonalds and another named camolot. This mud is defenetly a good one to look at.
I've been playing Northern Crossroads for over 6 years. I didn't even know what a mud was until the day I logged on NC. Everyone took me under there wing and helped me. I've had more fun than I can describe. And I've made more friends that I thought a person could. NC has a huge variety of people from all over the world. There's also a wide age range that runs from 8 to 40+ years. Everyone that comes seems to find a spot where they fit in. Then we all start running around and killing shit. It's Great!
Northern Crossroads is my home. Between its rich history and vibrant player base, I wouldn't waste my time playing anywhere else. I am a member of the immortal staff there, and I recommend it highly for new MUDders as well as experienced players who are looking for an intriguing world to explore. NC has interesting and challenging zones and great equipment. The custom code that operates the mud has some very clever capabilities, and the race and classes are well-specialized without being too extensive. NC also features a colorful mix of clubs for players to socialize and support each other, and newbies always find us a fun place to learn. The coolest thing about NC is the dedicated staff and loyal players that have made it one of the consistently popular MUDs of all time. Come check out the coolest MUD in the world - Northern Crossroads!
Northern Crossroads is a mud i've been playing for over a year. The games pretty fun, and it kills time, you can go do a solo 2person zone if you want and get some equipment, or you can go on a group with some other mudders and do a larger zone like Silicon Nightmare. Theres zones that have to do with almost any subject imaginable, and pk is restricted. Most people are willing to help newbies out, if they ask on the gossip channel, people even compete at giving the best description to help the newbie out. Players will go help em out with equipment and show them where the Mud's BOT is. If you get bored of PK or Zoning the mud also has things like Hunt Quest, Capture the Flag, Mortal Kombats, Royal Rumbles, and Chaos Mode. Overall the mud's a great place to chill out or kill time, i reccomend it to anyone.
This mud isnt for you unless you like being treated like garbage and no one would help you There is a lot of profanity on most channels and unless u want to play for years and yers u wont get any cool equipment because the old ppl have everything and even if u played for a long time it doesnt matter cuz the old stuff doesnt exist anymore its a big group of high school friends that think they better than everyone else. thanks.
With two years experience in playing at Northern Crossroads, It's hard to accept the fact that what was once a very friendly & newbie oriented mudd with awesome players and outstanding leadership, has turned into a network of elitist and fascist immortals, selfish players with greedy attitudes, and a place where equipment is the name of the game. Of course, one could argue that there are those that make EVERY effort, EVERY day to provide a great experience for new players and to better the greatness of the realm. Though this is true, the reality is very unfortunate. Those people are very few. They are limited in power. Their efforts go unrecognized and unnoticed. Because of the system and it's importance and because of the abuse of power by those high immortals who call themselves, "the almighty COMM," there is little one can do to stand up, to be bold and make the changes necessary to provide an individual, exquisite experience for new players. Northern Crossroads has a vast system of zones in which a person can lose themselves in the enjoyment of playing either solo or in large groups. Over the years, many people have worked very hard to create and build a fatasy game that will meet the challenge expected of the new player, intermediate and advanced/experienced player. Equipment in the larger more complex zones is your reward. Summary: Expect not to become immediately accepted in an elitist community where asking for help is sometimes spurned, where being powerful, vain and malicious is widely practiced, where power is abused, equipment is hoarded, where immortals delve into and intervene in mortal affairs, where rules are made for the benefit of the system and not the player, and where you have no say so (as mortal) in the decision making that affects your fantasy gaming experinece.
Generally, NC Mud is fun. There are a variety of zones to explore and a good number of race/class possibilities. As mentioned in an earlier review the focus at NC is on equipment. That isn’t to say that a great equipment set will make you invincible. It just means that no matter how skilled you are, if you have mediocre equipment you will not prosper. Although most players are willing to help newbies (to a point) it can be a little standoffish to the new-comer. If the new player doesn’t fall in to favor with the right more experienced players on the mud, they will face a long difficult journey. There are very few zones at NC that a single player can do to better their equipment. Therein lies the rub. Without gifts of equipment from more experienced players, the new player will have a tough time building an equipment set that will enable them to kill the mobs that will better their equipment, and eventually be well equipped enough to be a useful group members for the tougher (and more rewarding) zones. There are clearly groups of people on NC that “help” each other out. Most help is within the rules but there is some blatant favoritism that you’ll just have to get used to. It won’t change. Those that have been around NC a while have learned that if you aren’t a recipient of the favoritism you’d best just be quiet. Pointing out the glaring hypocrisy of the “Almighty COMM” will only cause you strife, and do nothing in the way of changing how some people expand the rules to benefit themselves. The COMM and under immortals have a wealth of ideas for improvements to the mud, and new features are constantly being added. This adds to the fun of NC. One thing I’ve noticed however, is that the new ideas always get the attention of the coders but the old ones tend to linger. Case in point: Their website has been stagnant since last year. There are many bad links, and now that the server has moved the telnet applet doesn’t work anymore. There is a feature designed to show you who is playing now, but the names it shows are from sometime last year (maybe early 2003). This shows the lack of organization and consistency that is present throughout NC. Every once in a while someone will mention the lack of updates to the website, but nothing is done about it. I play NC Mud occasionally and I like it there. It’s kind of a place to catch up with old friends and maybe do a zone or two. If you are serious mudder and your thinking of checking out NC Mud for the first time, you’d better get in with the right older players and some of the immortals or you will be intensely frustrated. Don’t expect fair play or a well-defined rules system. Do expect generally personable players and a somewhat zone...

NC is an excellent first, mid, and expert mud. Immortals are friendly and play their parts well. Overbearing immortals are dealt with by their betters quickly, so "surviving" immortals tend to be helpful and friendly. Wide player base, with a wide spectrum of personalities: from the friendly and helpful (the most) to the grumpy and vengeful (the fewest). You can PK if you register yourself as an "assassin". Even if you're not so regis- tered, you can challenge anyone (regardless of level, class, club/clan) and, if the other party accepts, you two are teleported to a fighting arena that can be left only after one dies. Zones galore, from the boring newbie one to the almost impossible to complete ones. For single explorers (few of them) or for large groups (most of them), NC has them all. Myself, I'm not an active mudder anymore, for reasons that have nothing to do with this or that mud (I'm a mom!). But, if I still had the time, I'd mud at NC, no doubt about it! Enjoy! Arcadia.
What can I say? This MUD is one of the least friendly I have come across. No-one seems to want to help you even with advice. I think other people have got it right about cheating etc. because there were a load of high level players but no low level. The newbie guide said a newbie should have an AC of no more than -30 (lower the better). The armour class I got from the basic newbie kit was +77! To get anywhere players must be getting some help but no-one was prepared to give me any so I can only assume the other reviews are right. Interestingly they have a message on logging in to remind you that you can vote for the mud every 12 hours! Obviously so few people like it that they have to rely on this to boost there ranking.
I've played on this mud since 1996. The game in itself is totally fun and keeps getting improved. But more importantly, it's the people in it that make the place as great a place as it is.
Gameplay, zones, pking, everything about that I find great about this mud. I have had some great times and have enjoyed the game play. The problem with this mud is the Administration. It is like the blind leading the stupid. They cheat and load eq, stats, and favors for there friends. Or take there incredibly upped non killable morts and zone for there friends and solo eq mobs so there buddies get everything they want while the rest of the mud gets treated like crap. When are they going to rename the mud to Mantra, Stinz, and Jaskins mud. Thoughs three seem to get the most favortism. I also love there approach to new mud ideas....If you don't like it leave or my personal favorite "I am going to delete you because you questioned the all mighty comm. Someone forgot to tell ya it was a game Zepher. Nothing the Adminisration is doing is promoting the mud or keeping players. Bottom line is Stop the cheating, favortism, and threats. You may even want to try communicating with each other...I heard that actually helps. Once the Admins get it together the mud will start prospering again.
Well, here's the real rundown on the MUD... It's run by some people in Canada, who all know each other. The Imms give themselves super-equipment, and their friends receive special treatment. On the other hand, there's plenty of original zones, though the ranking zones lack detailed descriptions and variety. The equipment zones are decent, and will keep you interested for a while. Thing is, that's the only thing to this mud. Equipment, equipment, equipment. If someone dies, you cant touch their equipment. If they drop their equipment, you cant pick it up. Supposedly if you die and your EQ gets sacrificed, it's gone or you have to do a quest, but if you're friends with the Imms just cry and whine or say you quit and poof, it's right back on your character. PK is VERY restricted, and as said before, equipment cannot be taken. Options within PK are limited also. You will usually result to opening the fight with one move, then chasing and spamming one other move until you win, or die. The dual class idea would be great, if it wasnt more of a tier class system. You start with one class, you get one set of skills, then yu transform into another clas with another set of skills that render the first set of skills useless. Would be more useful if you coul be a thief and cleric. Also, stealing from players is restricted, which makes playing a thief pointless except to become an assassin. On the breakdown, if you enjoy a mud where you can make friends, talk all day, maybe gain some ranks and get equipment, this is your MUD If you enjoying PKing or as I do, RPing, dont expect much along the lines of either if you play Northern Crossroads. Fairness is also nearly nonexistent if you're not of the "in crowd" (I've been both, just to show that this is no rant). All in all, with a few (or maybe more) changes, this would be a great MUD, but a lot of aspects are missing, making it fall VERY short of a top 20 MUD. The average player count of about 30 at high time shows this quite easily.
The mud itself is fantastic and most parts of this mud are well thought out, but the people who run the mud are also the same ones code the mud. I have yet to see a mud where cheating is the standard and fair play is thrown out as soon you log on. The coders morts all use custom loaded equipment that is way out of balance with the rest of mud and they tend to take care of their friends the same way. You also tend to discover after a certain amount of time that a lot of the people on this mud when to high school together years ago, so this is just a perpetual reunion for them. Anyone else is an outsider and most are treated as such. Rules on this mud are open to the interpretation of whoever you are talking to at that minute. Many instances occur where you are talking to one immortal, that one leaves and another comes on and completely reverses the previous. If you have enough friends in high places on this mud you need fear nothing, and if they are your buddies all you have to do is insist that you will quit in order to get whatever you want, including a full reimbursement if you happen to die and get everything you own sacrificed by a mobile. If you can kiss up real good and worship the right players on this mud then this place is for you. It is unfortunate that this mud is like it is, it is obvious that at one time there was people who actually cared and built a fine mud, though most of them are gone now and the current administration is doing what they can to remove any trace of anyone who may have done work. Case in point of all this, my characters where deleted tonight and I was badnoded from the server that the mud is hosted from when I pointed out that an immortal was cheating. This is in direct contrast to a policy being set forth that no such thing would happen. I'm not a good politician. Again, it's unfortunate that the mud is so beautifully put together and well thought out. But it's also painfully obvious that the current administration is not the ones responsible for it (there are a few glaring exceptions and Zieb and Zorro are the top of that list, there are no 2 finer immortals on any mud on any server).
I have been a player on this mud for the past 5 years. It has been like my second home. I have played on a few other muds and none have made me feel at home like this one. Many different classes and races, friendly immortals, unlimited amount of things to do and more being added. But most of all the personalities of the people who play here keep me constantly coming back.
this mud is fum and easy to play the people are cool and love helping also the dual class here is fun and entertaining as with the racial skills the imms put alot of time as do the player in this mud i strongly sugest ya play it i am not a imm just a lowly player pikathulu oh the web addy is ncmud.org check it out
I have been playing Northern Crossroads for about a year. Due to my RL commitment, I get to mud only intermittently, and as such often hunt alone. Nevertheless, the wide selection of original zones, exciting mix of spells and skills, friendly players (quite talkative I must add), and a mature class/race system form the basis of a conducive environment for a thrilling fun-filled mudding experience. Two thumbs up for Northern Crossroads!
This mud is the best mud that I have ever played on. I began playing when I was 15, and a sophomore in high school. I am now 21, and I still play constantly. Northern Crossroads is one of the most player friendly muds I have ever come across. People seem to compete to see who can help out a new player the fastest. Also, we have a wide variety of players who reside in the Northern Crossroads. Canadians, Estonians, French, Australians, as well as people from the USA all call it home. There are several clubs on Northern Crossroads: the Underworld Knights, the Chemically Deranged, the Darknights, the Hellspawn, the Flying Mavericks, and my personal favorite, the Jedi Knights. Another club is currently undergoing reviews. Clubs, or clans as I've heard them called on other muds, offer a chance for players to bond, go zoning together, and defend their club's honor. Each club functions as a family. Some clubs have alliances with certain clubs and enmities with others. We currently have 5 different dual classes: acolyte, warrior, mage, cleric, and thief. There are seven advanced classes: monk, blademaster, archmage, druid, assassin, avatar, and hero. These allow a wide variety of role-playing ability, but role-playing is not forced. If a player doesn't wish to role-play much, this is fine. We have a variety of zones on NC, from the basic fantasy components of a mud, such as your zones with castles and dragons and knights, to a more modern approach at mudding, including the Suburbs, Pizza Hut, Victoria's Secret, and the as-yet-unopened Greenwood Mall. Zones are available for groups of all levels. Simpler zones exist for new players, on up to complex zones like Narnia which require a fairly large advanced group. There certainly is something for everyone at the Crossroads. As I was saying, I've been playing for 6 years now. I have experienced many facets of Northern Crossroads. I once was the level 1 mage Weira, venturing out into the unknown, and now I am Arianne, one of the guiding immortals of the mud. I hope that over time the Northern Crossroads continues to draw people from all around the globe, and that just maybe, you will be one of them. Arianne http://geocities.com/jkofnc/arianne.html
I've been playing at Northern Crossroads on and off for the past 6 years....and I've gotta admit, it's a load of fun. I'm always surprised at the new code changes and ideas that are being added, as well as the tons of creative zones, new and varied races/classes/skills/spells, and more wickedly cool equipment than I'll probably ever get my hands on. On top of that, there are some really cool players and immortals, which genuinely make the NC experience one of the best.
I have been playing this mud for about maybe five months? The people there are very friendly, and it is a good enviroment. The clubs aspect is a lot of fun, you can raid other clubs, player kill, (if your into that sort of thing, too much dying for my liking.) Its really a lot of fun there. The immortals (well most of them) are really nice, and we try to help out newbies as much as we can. When we do zones, you might find yourself on the mud for about up to 4 hours. But time flys when your having fun. come try it. see you there. Lythia, archmage (HELL)
I have also been playing this mud for a good while (4+ years.) It was very addicting and fun but it has gone down hill as far as the players and fun value in the last couple years. There are at least 10 people that have comm status (imps). Things now are totally not democratic.. if you make an implementor mad or say something he doesnt like he can delete you and there is nothing you can do.. no one will question him. That's what happened to me.. leading to my retirement. As far as the players go... in the old days there were many good players and there really were good club rivals. Now there are only a couple really tough players and they are in the same club. All the good people left because they were tired of all the politics of this place. So now the club rivals and the strive to be the best isnt there near as much as before. If you are looking for a fun mud that you arent going to get screwed on down the line.. keep looking.
I've been playing with NC way back my freshman year in college that was in fall '93. At first I started out just chatting and making friends here and there, but soon as I learned to venture on my own, I was hooked. I have been on and off since then limiting my time. With School, and fulltime work, I always seem to come back to NC, even putting in 12hrs in one night (weekends only). I enjoy NC because it's FUN! I like the zones and a selected group of people. Thou some people may have their own political ideas about the mud, I try not to let that bother me. I'm there to have fun and waste me time :)
This mud is great! The people are nice, and the code is firendly. Clubs keep people together, and provide safety. Lots of zones... Lots of stuff out there. AAA+++ Mud
I've played on NC for over 6 Years. Once I logged on, and started playing, I was hooked. There's also a huge supply of zones, where you can do anything you might imagine. Maybe you might take a trip through the lower level area "Camelot", where you can do battle with King Arthur, and obtain "The Holy Grail"! Or you like comics you say? Imagine doing battle with the mighty X-men, or Batman, even your favorite wall-crawler Spiderman! There are entire areas based on all three! You might even have a "Silicon Nightmare", and take a wild trip through the inside of a buggy PC, where you'll do battle with "The unrepeatable bug". So come and check us out, and see why I've been returning here for years...
After playing on many different muds i finally found The Northern Crossroads about 6 years ago. I was hooked. Hooked until my computer crashed and i moved. So 1 year later and a new computer I get back on to find that It's a million times more fun! There is so much to do and everyone is helpfull! Its Great!
