Realms of Chaos, also known as RoC, is an extremely challenging, thoroughly engrossing reality. From the moment you set foot in the Realms, you will be enchanted by the vivid, full ansi color descriptions, and the highly intricate, refreshingly logical and internally consistent structure to an extent which you have undoubtedly never before experienced. Realms of Chaos runs on its own machine and connection, and is incredibly well-balanced and fair. Anti-cheating rules are actually enforced. You can therefore be proud of your achievements on RoC, as people do not gain levels by exploiting bugs or imbalances. RoC is a challenging mud. Those looking for a place they can become powerful overnight will be disappointed. However, it is the perfect mud for someone looking to earn their levels, and to be able to take pride in making it to High Mortal, because it is not something just anyone can do. When you check out RoC for yourself, you will see a well developed fantasy world that has room for humor and parody. It is not just a mud; to those who know it, it is another dimension.

Realms of Chaos (RoC) is a MUD which has been in operation since 1994 and is now one of the largest and most expansive MUD's ever created. While environments are richly detailed and the theme flows seamlessly from one continent to the next, RoC's greatest claim to fame is the level of challenge presented to players. Among MUD players, the title of High Mortal on RoC is widely considered to be one of the most respected accolades one can have. Richly detailed quests keep those who are not interested in mindless hack and slash interested, while the gargantuan universe filled with thousands of unique items keeps explorers content. A fully-fledged weather daemon brings sandstorms to the desert, blizzards to the northern regions, and hurricanes into the coastal areas while magical tornados spin off from its wake. The astronomy daemon is no less intricate: a full canopy of heavenly activities await the players in cyclic, time-independent precision. The level of immersion is also very high: it is not unusual to suddenly find yourself caught in the middle of a invasion. Monsters can and do inundate the cities, ranging from pesky rats to bonefied titans such as the Sapphire Dragon. Realms of Chaos, while an older and more established player in the online gaming multiverse, continues to take the lead in both innovation and dedication of its players and staff.

This mud has inspired tremendous loyalty from its players and coders for its uniquely enjoyable system, which began as Nightmare eons ago but has developed into a unique game, while keeping fun Nightmare features such as Ansi color. We have a number of races, some common and others unique to our mud, each of which has its own abilities along with the stat differentials. We currently have six guilds, but plan to add at least two more in the near future. The game is a challenge, and there are well-enforced rules against cheating such that you can be proud of your accomplishments. Roleplaying is strongly encouraged: There is a great deal of unity among people of the same guild or race. Players can affect the game, such as our player-owned homes, and a player-owned shop -- and all of this is just a start.

Still in the "getting started" modebut certainly has a lot of potential.
